UTSGAliens and the Heavens: Christian Encounters with Cosmic Pluralism
While the aliens depicted in contemporary science fiction or hypothesized in astrobiology may be relatively new phenomena, inhabitants of the heavens have been parts of diverse cultures’ worldviews for millennia. This course explores how various Christian thinkers and communities through history have reckoned with the possibility of extraterrestrial life by examining their cultural, scientific, theological, and ethical contexts. Restricted to first-year students. Not eligible for CR/NCR option.
