Classical Mechanics

The course analyzes the linear, nonlinear and chaotic behaviour of classical mechanical systems such as harmonic oscillators, rotating bodies, and central field systems. The course will develop the analytical and numerical tools to solve such systems and determine their basic properties.

This professor handwaves extensively in lecture and makes unjustified claims. When students ask clarifying questions about steps, he dismisses them as "just calculus" and tells people to review first-year textbooks rather than explaining carefully. One student was confused about chain rule and the prof seemed unfamiliar with the term itself, just calling it "simple calculus." He frequently abuses notation by treating derivatives like fractions, makes mistakes as a result, and gets corrected by students regularly. The teaching quality is poor and undermines what could be a foundational course.
