UTSGIntroduction to Indigenous Environmental Studies
This course is an examination of Indigenous environmental knowledge and practices. The course provides an overview of Indigenous peoples’ relationships with the natural world and a range of environmental issues, including climate change, water governance and Indigenous approaches to conservation and ecological restoration. Drawing on examples of Indigenous-led research, activism and policy, the course explores a range of topics in the field of Indigenous environmental studies through readings, lectures, films, and creative works.
