Introduction to Contemporary Chinese Art and Visual Culture

This course introduces contemporary Chinese art and visual culture, examining how artists and cultural producers respond to China’s rapid social, economic, and political transformations. We will analyze a range of media—including painting, photography, installation, film, and digital culture—in relation to themes such as globalization, urban change, memory, and identity.
