Professional Experience Course

This Experiential Learning Academic Internship course provides students with direct experience in professional environmental organizations. Students are placed, usually in pairs, with a partner organization across a range of sectors (non-profit, public and private) and are expected to contribute 70-80 hours over the semester (approximately 6-7 hours per week). Regular academic seminars complement the placement component. Eligible students must submit an online application approximately 12 weeks in advance of the course start date; which can be found on the School’s Experiential Learning SharePoint site for specific dates. To facilitate the arrangement of placements, students will be asked to rank their preferences but are not guaranteed their choices.
