I scored very high on term tests and entered the final exam with a high 80, but the final exam was marked extremely harshly to the answer key. The instructors aim to bring the class average down to around a C+, and they mark the final much less leniently than term tests, even though they don't technically curve down. I dropped a few letter grades despite thinking I had done well, which was frustrating given my strong performance throughout the term.
