UTSGAdvanced Synthetic Organic Chemistry: Synthetic Methods and Applications from the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Sectors
This course provides an overview of reactions and synthetic strategies that are used at different stages of the drug development process in the Pharma and Biotech sectors, and more generally in complex molecule synthesis. Principles of selectivity, synthetic planning, and reaction mechanism will be emphasized. Specific topics will include synthetic aspects of catalytic reactions, pericyclic reactions, free-radical chemistry, and advanced heterocyclic chemistry.
