What does this economic-political juxtaposition mean for the 1.4 billion Chinese population, and the world at large? As China's presence is increasingly felt across the world, either through its Belt-and-Road Initiative, or its more assertive foreign policy, does China promote economic growth and international cooperation, or does it challenge the existing world order? With changing political landscape in the US and the purported demise of the Liberal World Order, will China emerge as a leader that shape a new world order?
