His online lectures were pretty alright and definitely do the job for APM236. I think his homework are pretty fair actually, definitely much more so than 1st year CS courses. There were many times where I couldn't finish all questions on an assignment, and I was fortunate that unmarked questions never came up in grading. Fair warning: I heard that this time he is really hesitant in giving much options for online lectures, so check if in-person attendance works for you.
