Multispecies Ethnography

How are human lives intertwined with those of animals, plants, and microorganisms? This course explores the rich and complex relationships between humans and other species, recognizing the deep interconnectedness that shapes our shared worlds. Through case studies and theoretical reflections, we will examine how these entanglements shape various forms of world-making practices, perceptions of the world, and the very landscapes we inhabit. The course also engages with the possibilities and challenges of including nonhuman actors in ethnographic research, opening up new ways of thinking about life, agency, and the craft of anthropology.
